Abstract

This legal research discusses the REGULATIONS AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE USE OF TEAR GAS BY THE POLICE IN FOOTBALL MATCHES DURING A RIOT. The method used in this writing is normative. The reference sources used are secondary legal materials and secondary legal materials. Data collection techniques include conducting interview studies with sources and conducting literature studies. The research location is the BRIMOB POLDA DIY Police Office. Football is a sport that is popular with people around the world, including Indonesian people. Matches held at the stadium are always attended by spectators who want to enjoy the match or supporters who come to support their team. There are times when supporters of the opposing team also come to the stadium to support their team when competing. During football matches, spectators often take actions that trigger fights between the two football team supporters, resulting in conflict and the need for action from the competent police. The police have the important task of providing security at football matches. Security does not only focus on the safety of the players on the field but also the safety of the spectators in the stands. The security carried out is divided into several parts. Police actions to disperse spectators need to be taken into account so as not to cause harm to the spectators and the police themselves, so it is necessary to have regulations that discuss this matter.
