Abstract
Indonesia is a country that supports the Convention on the Rights of the Child in regulating the principles of legal protection for children, especially providing special protection for children who are in conflict with the law, so that Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the System of Juvenile Criminal Justice. The title of this legal writing is The Effectiveness of Implementing Diversion at the Investigation Level Against Child Criminals Based on Law Number 11 of 2012. This legal writing aims to see how effective the application of diversion is at the investigation level based on Law Number 11 of 2012 considering the conditions in the environment. In today's society, juvenile crime has the same quality adults crime. This legal research uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews with resource persons at the Resort Police, while secondary data was obtained from statutory regulations, journals, books, news, the internet and research reports. Drawing conclusions is carried out using a deductive method, namely drawing conclusions based on certain legal rules and then bringing these legal rules to the research object to find out whether the research object is in accordance with the legal rules on which it is based or not. The results of this legal research are that the implementation of diversion at the Sleman Police is still effective because there is no recidivism after diversion is carried out and its implementation is in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.
