Abstract

Waste contributes greatly to environmental pollution. Since long ago, programs to reduce waste have been encouraged. Although these programs do not always run well, the government always strives for innovation in waste reduction and handling. Until now, there is a program issued by the Yogyakarta City Government, namely the Zero Inorganic Waste Movement. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze how the implementation of the Zero Inorganic Waste Movement and the obstacles faced by the Yogyakarta City Environment Agency. The benefit of this research is to provide knowledge on the implementation of the program carried out by the Yogyakarta City Environmental Service. This research uses an empirical legal writing method that emphasizes the study of applicable law and the implementation that occurs in society. The result of this research is that the implementation of the Zero Inorganic Waste Movement by the Yogyakarta City Environmental Agency has gone well. However, public awareness still needs to be increased to dispose of waste in its place and sort waste.
