Abstract

The mining activities/business can emerged both positive and negative impacts to environment, of which its negative impact can cause the damage of environment in the former area of mine and also can cause and disadvantage to the society that live is surrounding area of the mine. This legal writing/ minithesis took the title “Environmental Damage Control Asa result of Beach Sand Mining in Merauke Regency”. Legal research/thesisaims to find outhow to contro lenviron mental damageasa result of sand mining activities in Regency Merauke and to find out if there are obstacles encountered in conducting damage control environment as a result of sand mining activities in Regency Merauke. Legal research/thesisusing this type of empirical legal research is research that focuses on people's behavior and the study of lawre quires primary data as themain data in addition to secondary data. Results of legal research/thesisis an effort to control environmental damage as a result of sand mining in Merauke Regency limited on angrove planting, no permission is granted to conduct sand mining and sosialisasi given to theminers. The constraints in the face, especially on customary rights owners, entrepreneurs and the naughty minersless than fosterawareness of protecting the environment.
