Abstract

The rapid development of time then with the rapid technological advances in the form of the development of computer and internet, with the development of the technology advances the human mindset to do evil also participated in the developing of a felony. Technology in the virtual world using the internet facilities often crimes under the guise of fraud by offering cheaper goods than the original goods that are sold in the market, the supply of goods so cheap and branded make Indonesian people are tempted to have it. Our society still has a very high hedonism nature, so with such a situation exploited by criminals to commit fraud by taking a gap on line.writer media tried to assess the role of the police in exposing criminal fraud through online media that has been set in the Act No. 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions. Research using normative legal research is to examine the library materials that are secondary data. Moreover, to support this research, the author interviewed several speakers such as IT experts from the police and IT lecturers.
