Abstract

Waste is waste whose presence at a particular time and place environmentally undesirable because it has no economic value . The level of danger of poisoning caused by waste depends on the type and characteristics of the waste , both in the short term and in the long term . Malioboro is a mainstay of the tourist area of Yogyakarta city spending , supported by the shops, restaurants , shopping malls , and do not miss its five street vendors . The street vendors also produce waste. This study is an empirical research, with qualitative descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of the study, showed that the role of street vendors in waste management as an effort to control environmental pollution in accordance with the Malioboro Yogyakarta Perwal No. 37 of 2010, namely the maintenance of cleanliness by providing waste disposal generated. In addition, vendors pay a fee for suction sewage effluent in Malioboro area. Constraints experienced by the street vendors in managing waste as environmental pollution control efforts in the area of Malioboro is obstruction due to aspiration of liquid waste a lot of vehicles parked around the waste dumps.
