Abstract

One job or profession in Indonesia is the job of being a journalist or news search. Many events experienced journalist who happened at the time of their duties, for example, when covering a story in an area, or covering a mass demonstration , not infrequently happens is affected by news of mass rioting , for example of persecution of the press . Violence and abuse were widespread and not infrequently leaves trauma felt by journalists. How legal protection of journalists who have experienced violence in journalistic activities ? Point 8 in Constitution Number 40 of 1999 on the Pers " in carrying out his profession journalist protection law " . Legal protection is guaranteed protection from the government and or public to journalists in carrying out the functions , rights , obligations and its role in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force . In addition to the regulations that provide protection for journalists , there is also a journalist protection standards issued by the Press Council by Rule Number : 5/Peraturan-DP/IV/2008 Protection Standard for Professional Journalists. Regulation of the legal protection of the press run is not maximized , so it still raises concerns that violence on journalists . Legal protection given to journalists is still weak due to the practice still occurs violence experienced.
