Abstract
This research was entitled criminal responsibility for children in serious traffic accident that results in death. This research was aimed to explain the criminal responsibility for children as the traffic accident doers that caused people dead in accidents. It was a normative legal research that focused on norms of positive law in the form of legislation. This research was conducted in the Police Administrative Unit of Yogyakarta. The results of this research showed that the criminal responsibility for children in serious traffic accident was imprisonment sanctions. The imprisonment sanctions were in accordance with the present law in serious traffic accident. For children, the demands on imprisonment penalties were reduced by 1/3 (one third) of the demands on imprisonment sanctions stipulated in the Act of Republic of Indonesia No 22 Year of 2009 About Traffic and Road Transportation.
