Abstract

This research’s title is consumer protection food and drink expired in Manggarai regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. The purpose of this study are: (1) to know the reason why entrepreneurs selling expired foodstuffs and beverages; (2) to know an accountability of business actors and supervision and guidance by government related to food and drink expired. This study is law research and empirical law research. The main data used in this study was primary data gathered from respondents and resource person. This study also supporting data including primary law material, secondary law material, and tertiary law material. Analytical methods used were qualitative analysis and inductive thinking method for building conclusion from particular materials to solve a general case. The result of this study showed that the form of responsibility from entrepreneurs are the compensation in the form of money or goods and an apology to consumen and the consumer protection food and drink expired in Manggarai Regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province is the weak of law enforcement in terms of consumers protection. Factor causing a weak consumer protection in Manggarai Regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur Province have not the officers or civil servants investigating consumer protection and the support enforcement operation that has not been adequately.
