Abstract

In the writing of this thesis, the author discusses the role of police in providing legal protection of victims of violence by supporters of football in DIY. It is backed by the fact the negative behaviors that impact football supporters really felt by the community is the behavior of anarchists such as acts of violence/Brawl between supporters which led to many casualties. formulation of the problem in this research are: Efforts are to be undertaken by the Police to give legal protection to the victims of violence by football supporters, and obstacles are encountered by the police in providing legal protection to the victims. This method of approach in writing is a kind of normative legal research, this research is conducted directly to the speaker as its main data supported by secondary data which consists of primary and secondary legal materials. The source of the data in this study were obtained by means of field studies and the study of librarianship. Data obtained in research libraries as well as in field research using qualitative analysis. Based on the analysis that has been done the author then can be summed up as follows: police efforts to give legal protection to the victims is to do preventive and repressive efforts, and obstacles faced by the police force in providing legal protection to the victim is a victim who suffered losses are unwilling to report to the authorities, the people who are in a scene does not want to provide information and testifyminimum proof instructions.
