Abstract

We often hear news about violence happening in our society recent days.Violence is "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation." It mainly happens in public society, working society, family living and even in educational society. School should be a place for students to study therefore it should be a safe place for them to learn. However, we often find some violence happen in school conducted by the teachers to their students. Some violence such as throwing a board eraser by the teacher to a student, hitting, slapping, and kind of them often happen in school. Besides students also suffered a psychological violence such as a teacher says thing in a harsh manner, mocking, or even sexual harassment. A case of violence in school is on the contrary breaking teachers’ role as a mentor, a tutor and an educator. Those things exactly make us worried about our educational system. A Violence conducted by teachers to students will give negative effect for them in their lives. Students can suffer traumatic memory and merely do not want to go back to school. Government has actually afforded to prevent a teachers’ violence to student in school. Government has made rules to avoid violence in school. One of the efforts is by giving attention to a teaching-learning process in school so that violence will not happen anymore. With that kind of rule, teachinglearning processes become more effective and make students feel safe to study in school
