Abstract
The research discusses the role of the Permit Service Office (KPP) in Supervising the Civil Mining in the Sleman Regency. The research focuses on two research problems. The first problem is to understand the role of the Permit Service Office (KPP) in supervising the civil mining in the Sleman Regency. The second problem is to find the obstacles faced by the Permit Service Office (KPP) in supervising the civil mining in the Sleman Regency. The research is an empirical research which focuses on the law environment’s behavior. The research is done directly to the respondent as the main data and is supported by the secondary data which is parted into primary law sources and secondary law sources. The result of the research is that the Permit Service Office (KPP) do not supervise the civil mining in the Sleman Regency. It is because the civil mining activity is stopped after the Merapi eruption and is converted to the Normalization of the River Area term.. The supervision of this program is done by the Environmental Office (KLH) and the Water Energy and Mineral Resources Office (SDAEM). The obstacles faced by these offices is the limited amount in both the human resources and the fund.
