Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the law protection form given by the government through the police institution towards the victim of traffic accident especially in Sleman Regency. To know the obstacles faced by the police in providing law protection towards the victim of traffic accident. This research used normative law research which is a research that focuses on norms and law base. In this research the norm that being observed is Constitution Number 22 Year 2009 concerning traffic and street transportation. The researcher conducts abstraction concerning law protection that should be given to the victim of traffic accident especially in Sleman Regency. The researcher conducts law synchronization systematically related to this research including description, systematization, analysis, and interpretation concerning law research whether the victim of traffic accident in Sleman Regency accepts law protection. The data source gained from constitution, books related to the law protection problems towards victim, scientific researches, discussions, seminar about law protection towards the victim of traffic accident, research findings, website, and newspaper related to the law protection towards the victim of traffic accident. The data collecting method by using literature study and source interview in section Unit Traffic of Sleman Country Police. The analysis method was by understanding, stringing up or investigating the data that has been collected systematically.
