Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the role of children protecting institution toward the children as the victim of sexual violence, to know the barriers which are founded by the children protecting institution in providing protection toward the children as the victim of sexual violence, and to know the participation of the apparatus of legal upholder, society and parent. The method of research: the type of research is normative, i.e. by reviewing the valid laws, data sources used are both primary and secondary legal sources. Based on the result of this research, thus the role of children protecting institution includes three aspects, i.e. juridical aspect, psychological aspects, and medical aspects. The cooperation between the legal apparatus upholder, parent and society should be more increased in various kinds to could achieve the purpose of legal protection toward children. Thus, children protecting institution in conducting socialization should gives consideration concerning on the matter of children, and has orientation of the Law Number 23 of 2002 on Children Protection, thus it could decrease sexual violence which is conducted by parent toward children in family domain.
