Music is a universal language that can touch every people through its melody, rhythm, and composition. Music never sleeps because it is everywhere, and that is why as a language, it is not enough for music to stand alone without a good place to accommodate music to be well-informed to people. There must be supports from the media and people to provide a decent place for the music to be heard. Music and musical instruments are reality that binding one each other. By looking at the composition of musical instruments in a musical performance, people can give a perception of__ whether or not__ a musical performance becomes a great show. That is the reason why several musical instruments become elements that would be communicated to people through Jogja International Concert Hall using metaphorical, and later it is called as a design issue in this project. That design issue stated as design emphasis of Jogja International Concert Hall are applied to the building through its facade elements. Façade is an important part of the building, because it determines the image, character, function, and building typologies. Facade becomes an element in the main gate of a building to be able to give the first impression of people’s experiences that they might have when being in it. Several musical instruments that are designed as façade details of Jogja International Concert Hall are synthesized using methaphorical semiotics.
