Abstract

The writing of this law is entitled The role of UNHCR in relocating Afghanistan refugees in Indonesia based on the principle of non-refoulement principle. The problem arises as a place for refugees in the recipient country as there is only 1% of the world's 21 million refugees worldwide for relocation of refugees in the world and the other reason is the recipient country refuses because of their national security. This legal writing uses a type of normative legal research derived from the applicable regulations of the Geneva Convention of 1951, Protocol 1967 on the Status of Refugees coupled with primary data and secondary data. The results of his research is to deal with Afghanistan refugees in Indonesia, UNHCR apply various barriers ranging from the process of determining the status of refugees who require a very long time, which takes a long time. And also UNHCR can not intervene in recipient countries to relocate Afghan refugees in Indonesia to Europe.
