Abstract

This research aims to analyzed the work satisfaction of construction workers in project construction and the TQM model developed by Vincent Gaspersz (1999). The study also analyzed factors influencing the relationship between the work satisfaction of construction workers and the supervisor's leadership effectiveness, the working environment, and the empowerment of construction workers in the implementation of Building Construction Projects at DIY. The subjects of the study were construction workers. Out of 120 construction workers were taken by quota pur-posive random sampling as the sample of the study. This research adopts MSQ(1999) model for the work satisfaction instrument, the K-5 model for the supervisor leadership effectiveness instrument developed by Usman (1999), the OCDQ Model (1978) for the work environment instrument, Mahavandi model (1992) for empowering construction workers instrument. The data gathering and analysis used of the quantitative methods (statistic analysis). The relationship intensity is analyzed by multiple linier regression. Results show that leadership effec-tiveness, the working environment, and empowerment of construction workers has a positive and significant relationship to the work satisfaction. Furthermore, the factors were ranked using effective contribution analysis. Results show that the factors are as follow: working invironment(19t),leadershipeffectiveness (2nd), and empowerment of construction workers (3th).
