Abstract

One measure of the success of a company is the employee's performance continues to increase over time. Performance is a measure of a person's success in executing a job (As'ad, 2004:46). Performance is affected by many factors. Manzoor, et al., (2011:21) states that the employee's performance dipengaruh by motivation, work environment and stress. Employees a good working environment positively contribute to employee motivation and employee performance improvement. Conversely, the lower the stress of work and motivation will ultimately degrade the performance of employees. This research is used to examine how the effect of the work environment and stress on motiavsi work and its impact on employee performance. The study was conducted at PT Bank Panin permanent employees of Central Sulawesi. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 70 permanent employees of PT Bank Panin Central Sulawesi. The results showed that, the work environment and work motivation has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Stress has a negative and significant effect on employee performance. The results provide informationthat, work motivation acts as an intermediary variable relationship between the work environment and stress by the performance of employees, large or kecinya where employee performance is determined by the size of the motivation of employees in work (work motivation).
