Abstract

STUDY ABOUT IMPACT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE TO SUCCESS OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT, Ferdinandus Tjusanto., 12 51 01815/PS/MTS, September 2012, concentrations of Construction Management, Master of Civil Engineering, Graduate Program, University of Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. The implementation of project management excellence can be an alternative choice to bring the application of project management success on projects handled, obtain new clients and projects in the continuity of the construction company. The intent and purpose of this research was to know how far the contractor company in Indonesia apply project management excellence, know whether there is a correlation / relationship between the success of the implementation of project management excellence and to analyze the influence of factors excellence to successful project management of construction projects. Research conducted at 3 (three) different locations chosen randomly, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Kupang. Research carried out by preparing and spreading questionnaire adopted from previous research which refers to research H. Kerzner (1998). Questionnaire research consists of two parts: the first part is to measure the implementation of project management excellence, is composed of 42 questions, the second part is to measure the level of success from construction projects consists of 14 using the Likert scale questions. Data were analyzed with the help of IBM SPSS statistic 20 program in according to the research objectives to be achieved. The results showed that the application of the dominant project management excellence performed by contractors in Indonesia is a condition of superiority toward the correct, but there are still weaknesses in the application and still requires effort. Relationship shown on the implementation project management excellence with the success of the project is positive, linear and significant correlations were seen from the figure of 0.284. The effect of implementation of project management excellence to the success of construction projects seen enough to affect the results of the analysis of the resulting R2 value of 0.564 in regression analysis or by 56.4%, a significance level of 0.000, which is much smaller than 0.05. A whole analysis of the results showed three (3) components of project management excellence that influence the success of the construction project is management support, informal project management, integrated process.
