Abstract
This study aims to identify the factors that affect the physical quality of pedestrian space in Panembahan Senopati street, the city of Yogyakarta based on the theory of robustness of Ian Bentley in his book entitled Responsive Environments. This study used observation to observe conditions in the loacation and also uses the theory of robustness. Data was collected by observation and recording of the condition of pedestrian paths and supporting elements seen by using the theory of robustness is an active activity in front of the building; edge of space: the form and function of the edge of the building; lane vehicle: vehicle lane with a barrier zone pedestrian paths, elements in the barrier zone, the location of parking spaces, dots and shapes intersection, pedestrian paths height of vehicle lanes; share road space: width and parking layout, shape and size limits of vehicle lanes with pedestrian paths. The results showed that there are several factors that affect the physical quality of pedestrian space in the Panembahan Senopati street, the city of Yogyakarta are robust but needed street furniture again.
