Abstract

The companies who want to be advanced and to be developed rapidly should have competitive edges and one of the ways to attain such competitive edge is adopting the information technology and providing service to the customers. Within the banking industry, the use of information technology (mobile banking) is one type of service that has been committed in order to ease the customers in performing their financial (banking) transaction). A good service will form the customers’ positive attitude toward the company and the intention to keep using the related banking service. In relation to the statement, the researcher conducted a research in Yogyakarta toward the customers who made use of mobile banking service provided by several banking companies in Yogyakarta. The aim of the study was to find the differences of the factors that influenced the mobile banking servic, the attitude toward the mobile banking service and the management of mobile banking service based on the differences of customers’ characteristics. The samples of the study were 181 respondents. From the results of the research, the researcher found that: 1) Evaluation toward the factors that influened the use of mobile banking service belonged to the good category. 2) The customers had a good attitude toward the mobile banking service. 3) The customers performed a good management of mobile banking service. From the results of differential analysis, the researcher found that there had not been any difference within the customers’ evaluation on the factors that influenced the use of mobile banking service, on the attitude toward the mobile banking service and on the management of mobile banking service base on the differences of gender and age. The customers with background of entrepreneurship and high level of income had better evaluation on the factors that influenced the use of mobile banking service, on the attitude toward the mobile banking service and on the management of mobile banking service.
