Abstract
Midwive is one of the oldest profession in human civilization. Midwives emerges as reliable in assisting and helping women who delivers baby. As professional workers, midwives performs their duty and practice based on espoused philosophical, scientifical, working methode, practical standard and ethics code of service. There are two basic requirements that must be met which is well-balanced of standart of professionalism demands and what it should be obtain for the fullfillment of the tasks. In obtaining legal protections and professionalism in accordance to professionalism standards and standards operating procedures (SOP) it is one of midwives rights in maintaining their credibility in the field of law and in legal aspects in concerning the basic laws at the central and local levels. “Ibu dan Anak Permata Bunda Hospital Yogyakarta” is one of the hospital which is placed honorary status for their midwives. “Ibu dan Anak Permata Bunda Hospital Yogayakarta” are using the temporary employment of midwives for an easier implement of agreement purpose. Among the honorary midwives which are working at “Ibu dan Anak Permata Bunda Hospital Yogyakarta” there is a honorary midwive who has been serving for 26 years but still have her status as a honorary midwive which this is contrary to applicable law. As the honorary midwive at the “Ibu dan Anak Permata Bunda Hospital Yogyakarta” aware that competitions for having a job is extremely hard especially for being a midwive remains employed consequently a midwive grateful enough to take offered honorary job status and its consequence at this time. Midwives honoree are faced into difficult choices, whether accepting the jobs and its wages or not having any job. This because of there are too many existing workforce but there are a little of job opportunity available. Honoree midwives should be prepared in job taking competition and so the income without thinking of their welfare and their family.
