Abstract

This research is conducted in purpose of finding out the roles of labours union or workers union in preventing inappropriate payment agreement by companies which is opposed to government policy. This research is highly expected to be useful to the development of law perspective particularly the labour law in Indonesia. The result of this research benefits labours. It confirms strictly that the existence of labour union as having roles would create balance in managing paymentregulation between employers and employees. Labour union is an organization formed by labours and aimed for labours that occur both inside and outside companies. It is free, open, independent, democratic, and responsible for sharing the same strufgle, taking care, and protecting labour rights. As the same time it is including to improve the level of prosperity among labours families. This research explains that payment regulation is salary agreement which is deliberately discussed between both parties, employers (such as companies) and employees (labour or workers). This agreement somehow must meet standars of regulation held by government. These standards usually are the prosperity bars to accumulate labours daily needs so they could sustain their lives properly. Some factors might domain contravention in implementing the regulation. It usually happens to be the financial factor that covers the ability of companies to pay salary. Some companies put some blameon inflation. On the other hand, it is believed that it is only business strategy low cost, high profits. By reducing their production cost to the level, they expect to gain much more profits. This is why the main reason labours union established, to assure companies strict to the payment regulation and prevent such disadvanteges to their labour (workers)
