Abstract

This thesis examines Human Rights fulfillment by Transnational Corporation in Indonesia towards local society by chosen PT. Freport Indonesia as the study case. This research tries to sound the urgency of arrangement Transnational Corporation potition in Human Rights Law internationally and nationally. This research used juridical normative method with international and national law approach. In effort to find the result, the researcher explains the regulation related, and fact related to the topic, then process it together with doctrines, expert opinions and general law principles to find the gaps, conclusion, and later on the suggestions. As the conclusion of this research PT. Freeport Indonesia had done efforts in order to fulfill and respect human Rights including efforts to restore the damaged environment that is caused by its business activities. Such as running development programs for local society like coastal and highland environment revegetation, scholarships, health care, entrepreneurships, and Human Rights Center. But in the end those programs that already provided do not make any better change, in other words those programs do not run maximally.
