Abstract

This thesis discusses the state of Thailand which still applies the Lese-Majeste law as the main law in protecting the kingdom. As a country that has also ratified the ICCPR, of course, it has an impact on the right to freedom of expression of the Thai people, which is in fact different from the implementation set out by the ICCPR. The method used is the normative method according to the study literature. Finally, the result of the research is that the Lese-Majeste law is indeed a law that is highly respected by the Thai state and is highly respected which has a great influence in limiting the opinions of the Thai people, which of course this influence is not a good influence and is contrary to the ICCPR which is a covenant. to protect the civil and political rights of every society. The researcher provides a solution so that the Thai state is willing to make changes to the provisions contained in the Lese-Majeste law so that it no longer limits the right of opinion of the Thai people, then respects all aspirations expressed by the community so as to create a sense of security for the community because their rights are respected
