Abstract

Transnational crimes are crimes that are actually national which contain transnational or cross-border aspects. Then cross-border crime is a form of crime that poses a serious threat to global security and prosperity considering its nature involves various countries. One form of transnational crime is narcotics and psychotropic crime. Narcotics and psychotropic crime have been taken seriously by many countries and faced by many countries. With the rise of transnational crimes, especially in the narcotics and psychotropic fields, Indonesia is conducting bilateral cooperation with Laos with the aim of tackling transnational crimes in the narcotics and psychotripic fields. The effect of this bilateral cooperation has a positive impact on both countries in dealing with narcotics and psychotropic criminals in their countries. However, even so in this cooperation there are factors that hinder its effectiveness which then have an impact on the sustainabilitty of this bilateral cooperation
