Abstract

The concept of climate justice related to the handling of climate crisis issues needs to be implemented optimally. In particular, climate justice must be the basis for implementing climate change adaptation and mitigation mechanisms, such as the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) mechanism in Indonesia. In the field, there are still many conditions that deviate from the principles of climate justice in the implementation process. In this paper, the author wants to explain the conditions of REDD+ program implementation that are still contrary to the principles of climate justice. The author tries to explain that in some areas, such as Central Kalimantan, where REDD+ is being implemented, conflicts still arise between the implementation of the program and local communities. The author wants to show that solving the climate crisis is not only related to market and economic mechanisms, but the rights of local communities also need to get a positive impact from these mechanisms
