Abstract

Development of housing and settlement is an effort to fulfill one of human basic necessities, in addition to increase the quality of life environment, provide direction to regional development, expand working field and also to encourage the economical activities in order to increase and evenly distribute the social prosperity. Relating to this matter, the effort of development of housing and settlement is continually continued. By increasing the development in the field of housing and settlement, thus it is should be conducted management and planology. Planology could guarantee the manifestation of harmony, order, balance, development and growth inter-sector, inter-regional, and inter-area in a unity of Indonesian archipelago. To create the order in development, thus, every developer, in particularly for settlement should have License to Build (IMB). License to Build (IMB) intends to create order in creating building and settlement in order it creates the balance environment appropriate to the planology. Whether the construction of building for settlement in Sleman Regency has been appropriate to the Regional Regulation of Sleman Regency Number 1 of 1990 on Building Regulation? From the result of this research, it can be concluded as follow: Mostly the society in Sleman Regency, in particularly the society of Depok Subdistrict, Mlati Subdistrict, and Sleman Subdistrict had owned License to Build (IMB) for their settlement. Based on the result of this research it founded is 63,33% of society had have License to Build (IM)B) and those who have no IMB is 36,67%. Thus it proved that the level of social consideration on the important meaning in having IMB in constructing a building, in particularly for settlement is relatively high.
