Abstract
Humans and the environment are mutually exclusive, so humans must pay attention to and protect their environment from any damage. As time went on, as more people grew, so did the need for space. These developments had positive and negative effects. The positive effect is that employment is created, while its adverse effects can cause degradation of environmental quality such as air pollution and the difficulty of obtaining clean water. The Law number 26 of 2007 on section 29, public green open space on the municipal area was set on minimum 30% of the municipal land area (20% municipal government and 10% from private individual). The fact that there is a public green open space in Yogyakarta is still very low at 11.9 percent. As a result of a number of obstacles to the development process, development without regard to the surrounding environment and the growing rate of population growth eventually led to a challenge in securing land for green open space in Yogyakarta. The goal of research is to know how land procuring land for the development of Green Public Space in Yogyakarta and what obstacles it faces in securing land supply for the development of public green space in Yogyakarta. This legal research is an empirical legal research. Data collection was carried out by field studies and literature studies, while to analyze the results the authors used qualitative analysis methods that compared data from field studies with secondary and primary legal materials. Based on the author's research and analysis, the area of public green open space in Yogyakarta is currently 8.11%. To obtain public green open space land for Yogyakarta, it can be done through land conversion and by looking for land, for example from unused buildings. One of the main obstacles to achieving this goal is the limited land available to build public green open spaces, which makes it expensive.
