Abstract

The existence of waste in the tofu industry must be managed well to anticipate pollution in the surrounding environment such as rivers, land, etc. and to minimize losses that can be experienced by the surrounding community. In order to carry out waste management, it is necessary to control environmental pollution so that environmental pollution does not occur around the tofu industrial area. Based on this, the author discusses the implementation of the responsibilities of tofu industry activities In controlling environmental pollution and the obstacles in implementing pollution control obligations in Karanganom Village, North Klaten District, Klaten Regency. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the responsibilities of the tofu industry activities in terms of controlling environmental pollution and the constraints of tofu industry managers in controlling environmental pollution in Karanganom Village, North Klaten District, Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is empirical legal research by collecting literature studies and interviews which are then analyzed to link several social findings. The results of this research show that industrial business actors have carried out their responsibilities in managing waste resulting from industrial business activities to prevent environmental pollution in Karanganom Village, North Klaten District, Klaten Regency. However, in practice, business actors lack experts in managing waste and there is a lack of awareness among industrial business actors to manage waste.
