Abstract

Doxing has become common and often occurs on various social media platforms. One of the doxing phenomena that is rampant today is the culture of callout and shaming of sexual harassment perpetrators. This action is based on a sense of helplessness, fear, and unresponsiveness of law enforcement in responding to survivors' reports. The act of doxing of the perpetrators of sexual harassment is often justified in order to achieve justice for the victims of sexual harassment. As such, the rights of privacy of those sexual harassment perpetrators that is guaranteed by the law is being violated and as the result those perpetrators and everyone related to them are being harassed and intimidated.The act of doxing also allows the public to be the judge, jury, and executor outside the justice system. This resulted in vigilantism in which the perpetrators of sexual harassment are often found guilty through the court of public opinion sometimes with little to no evidence. This situation then creates a chaos within the society and thus creating an unsafe space for those who is being accused of sexual harassment of the act of doxing that happened to them in fear of prolonged harassment, threats, and intimidation.
