Abstract

Thailand has a variety of interesting tourist attractions, behind the success of this Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) is one of the biggest supporters of the prostitution business in Thailand. CSEC is a form of violence and coercion of children in the form of forced labor and modern slavery, which uses children aged under 18 years in sexual activities. The Committee on Children's Rights is deeply concerned by the widespread sexual exploitation and abuse of children in the State Party due to the lack of legal protection for victims of exploitation. This research uses normative legal methods by means of literature study which refers to conventions and expert opinions. The research results show that the Thai government has ratified and implemented three United Nations (UN) Conventions, namely ILO Convention number 182 concerning child labor, the Convention on the Rights of Children (CRC), and the Optional Protocol on Sale of Children, Child Prostitution, and Child Pornography, as well as implementing the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act B.E (1996), Child Protection Act 2003, and Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act 2003 policies to reduce human rights violations in their country. However, the number of CSEC violations in Thailand is still increasing, therefore the author concludes that the government's implementation has not been optimal and the author's suggestion is that the government should evaluate old policies and carry out planning plans every 5 years on a regular basis.
