Abstract
Acquittal decisions in criminal cases often give rise to debate, especially regarding the legal coherence between the judge’s basic considerations and the facts revealed at trian. One interesting case to study is Decision Number 454/Pid.B/2024/PN Sby in a murder case. What the author focuses on in this research is the extent to which the legal considerations used by the judge in the decision are in line with the fact of the trial and the principles of justice, as well as how this decision ref;ects legal certainty for the parties involved. This research aims to study, understand and analyze the legal coherence of the judge;s basic considerations with the fact of the trial in acquittal decisions in murder cases. This research uses a normative legal research mehod which focuses on legal norms using secondary data as the main data. The research results show that there is a discrepancy between the chronology of the cae based on facts and the judge;s considerations. Therefore, this research plays an mportant role in analyzing the legal coherence of the judge’s basic considerations with the facts of the trial in acquittal decisions in murdr cases.
