Abstract

The barter market in Wulandoni Tourism Village, Lembata Regency, is a cultural tradition with significant potential as a tourism attraction. However, the sustainability and management of this barter market require special attention from the perspective of regulation and legal policies. This study aims to analyze the legal policies implemented by the Department of Tourism and Creative Economy of Lembata Regency in managing the barter market as a tourism attraction. The study employs a normative research method with a statutory approach and related document analysis.The findings indicate that, to date, there is no specific policy or regulation governing the management of the barter market in Wulandoni Tourism Village. The absence of such policies poses challenges in preserving and developing the barter market as a cultural and creative economic asset. Therefore, this study recommends the formulation of specific regulations to support the preservation of the barter market tradition, involving local communities, tourism stakeholders, and local governments. Such regulations are expected to integrate cultural, economic, and tourism aspects to establish the barter market as a sustainable tourism attraction.
