Abstract

The purpose of writing this law is to determine and analyze whether the implementation of educational training programs for convict at the Penitentiary II Class A Yogyakarta has been going well in accordance with the legislation in force and to investigate and analyze what are the constraints faced by the correctional institution to implement educational training programs for inmates. This research is a study that focuses on normative legal norms and using secondary data as the main data. The results of this study are: (1) the implementation of educational training programs for convict in penitentiary class II A yogyakarta has been implemented in accordance with applicable law, it is proved by the implementation of an educational training program conducted by the penitentiary class II A Yogyakarta, namely education conducted through two pathways, namely non-formal education and formal education (2) Basically, there are still many obstacles faced by prisons II Class A Yogyakarta in the implementation of educational training programs for inmates such as a lack of willingness and intention inmates to attend a training program of education, lack of implementation of the program costs for education, lack of permanent teaching staff to provide education and teaching to inmates, lack of support from the school of origin convict, and lack of time in the implementation of educational programs.
