Abstract

Tourism industry, nowadays, is one of income sectors having a great contribution for a region or country. Timor Leste has a great potential tourism with its natural beauty, cultural richness, locations, and ancient places. Its geographic location between two big countries – Australia and Indonesia – having historical, cultural, and political relations with Timor Leste contributes a great potential for tourism development in Timor Leste. This study focused on Multi Attribute Decision Making (MADM) implementation in Decision Support System (DSS) for selecting tourism places in Timor Leste with ELECTRE (Elimination Et Choix Traduisant la Realité). In this study, researcher took three criteria as attributes for data processing process: (1) Cost (User’s fund availability); (2) Distance (Estimation of desired tourism place distance); and (3) Time (User’s time availability). The system was built using PHP Framework Code Igniter with input facility provided as planned criteria. This study found a web application providing recommendations and information to users (potential tourists). Recommendations provided are based on inputted items from users, and then they are processed with ELECTRE method. Therefore, the application shows a recommendation list of tourism places.
