Abstract
Internet development in these recent days goes very fast, e-commerce electronic commerce is essentially buying and selling activities electronically undertaken via internet network. More specially, e-commerce also involves add setting , order sale, delivery and receipt, service provision and support using a web shop for 24 hours a day for all costumers. E commerce application has invariably been the business art and strategy in housing area, costumes are facilitated with this service. This study aims to find out the extent to which e-commerce is employed in housing business in Indonesia, in particular and APEC countries, in general. The writer wants to know whether online application in housing business has been keeping up with e-commerce application in general. Study method used was subjective evaluation on e-commerce application. The writer subjectively examined the application of e-commerce to housing field. Standard evaluation of the study was based on the percentage of site loading and study reference on e-commerce application done by Richardus Eko Indrajit (2000). The subject of this study was conducted on housing site in APEC countries which amounts to 98 sites searched with search engine aid, both nationally and internationally. Study results show that the best e-commerce application was dominated by North American countries. From the results of the study on online technology usage, that is, payment facility, question and answer, multimedia presentation, and information taking on e-commerce application to housing business is still small compared to e-commerce application to global trade.
