Abstract
As you read this, Barack Obama is still one hell of a history for Unites States of America presidency. The writer did this research for how to give meanings to this object, which is President Barack Obama on TIME magazine special commemorative edition. The remarkable act as the first black president and how United States deal with this thing made that country bigger. All of the attention been drawn to that kind of country, which keep the civil power and human rights up front. The research started with how this theme becomes interesting in some other way and how it bond with communication. That is referring to how to make the semiotic work in Barack Obama cover on TIME magazine. The mechanism of semiotic work in distinctive ways, it involve how our state of mind deal with the object as reader. Our common sense and knowledge lead us to how to make definition of a ‘picture’ let say. Secondly, the writer laid out some of the issues point that resemble the case which lead to main discuss in this research. And then the writer gave out some extract about theoris that sync the object of the research, which lead to how the character of TIME magazine do the media work from zero until now; that goes to the history of Barack Obama. The main part of this research is in the analysis. The Barack Obama covers in TIME is presented on this chapter and then the writer analyze that through the representation in media and how semiotic make it work. In the end, it’s concluded as how Barack Obama becomes representative of America and how the writer defines it with other issues.
