Abstract
This study aims to identify the factors that influence a person's decision to accept and use technology innovation smartphone on the students in Yogyakarta. This study is expected to provide a deeper insight in identifying the influences which affect an individual's decision to adopt the smartphone using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Computer Self-efficacy (CSE) and Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) as a basic model in research. The study was conducted using a survey method that is distributed to 323 student respondents in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Analysis of the data calculations performed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression with the program tools IBM SPSS Statistics Version 20. The results showed that students behave intention to use a smart phone product is influenced by the students attitudes and perceived usefulness of the smartphone products. As in this study also identified that the attitude of students towards the use of smartphones is affected by compatibility, perceived ease of use, and the perceived usefulness of the smartphone products. It also found that perceived usefulness is influenced by perceived ease of use, and perceived ease of use is influenced by the Computer Self-efficacy. And lastly, there was no difference in the perception of smartphone usage if the terms of the gender.
