Abstract

Project Manager Professionalism of contractor's in road construction is represent by important factor to create a success project. The objective of this research is to identify dominant factors which supporting Project Manager Professionalism in road construction, understand about the sequence dominance factors that supporting Project Manager's professionalism in small and non-small faction contractor to, and knowing the sequence dominance factors of professionalism between road construction and building construction's Project Manager. This research is adopting professionalism study instrument of Project Manager in building construction project in Surabaya. Collecting data initiated by questionnaires. Respondents consist of 35 companies from small faction and 20 companies from non-small faction. All of respondents represent contractor which experienced in doing the project of road construction in Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang. The dominant factors that supporting professionalism of road construction Project Manager are analyzed by using factor analysis. Result are : organizing, leadership, staffing, directing, improvement and development, and policy making. The sequence dominance factor that supporting professionalism of Project Manager in small company is : staffing, improvement and development, policy making, and organizing. While, the sequence factor in non-small company is : leadership, organizing, policy making, staffing, self management, and improvement and development
